"Teaching has given
me back my ahha's! Preparation, support and perseverance
bring me to those days when whole groups of students exclaim,
Ahhhha! I sometimes hear eureka from myself,
when I reach a student, when I pass the torch successfully."

"I have reentered
the teaching profession, and am in my second year of teaching
Statistics and Consumer Math at Rock Bridge High School in Columbia.
At first glance my background, life experiences and identity
appear very different from my students; but I have discovered
that this is an advantage and not a liability."

"Since I was little I had thought
of becoming a teacher. My mom is a teacher so in high school
I decided it was not for me. So in college I got my degree in
business. Within a year of being out of school I was quite unsatisfied
with the path my life was taking. After visiting Columbia I
was back on my way to KC when I saw a sign that said teach math
or science. I said ok and here I am. I love working with kids.
I like the look they get on their face when they understand
something. Plus I love math. Seeing students learn is really
my chief reason for doing it, oh yeah for the money to!"
